Global Wellness Day, celebrated each June, is a reminder that taking care of your health doesn’t require a big change. It starts with small, simple actions you can take every day.

Wellness isn’t just about physical fitness. It’s about how we feel mentally, emotionally, and physically throughout the workday. Whether you’re at a desk, in a truck, or on the move, there are easy ways to build healthier habits into your routine.

What does “wellness” really mean?

Wellness is finding balance, managing stress, staying active, getting enough rest, and taking care of yourself so you can do your best work and feel your best.

The goal is progress. It doesn’t have to be perfect.

Simple ways to support your wellness at work

Try incorporating a few of these easy, realistic habits into your day:

At a desk or workstation

  • Take a quick stretch break every hour
  • Adjust your posture (feet flat, shoulders relaxed)
  • Rest your eyes by looking away from your screen

In a truck or on the road

  • Stretch your arms, legs, and back during stops
  • Take a short walk when it’s safe to do so
  • Keep water nearby and stay hydrated

For everyone

  • Take 5 deep breaths to reset during stressful moments
  • Step outside for fresh air if possible
  • Focus on one positive moment from your day

Don’t forget mental wellness

Global Wellness Day is celebrated annually on the second Saturday in June and encourages people around the world to pause and reflect on living a healthier, more balanced life.
