“I’d like to nominate afterhours (specifically Adrienne) for an OWNit Moment. I live in Kouts, IN, and a few weeks ago, my town was decimated by a tornado while I was out on the road. My house survived the storm, but I lost a lot of the surrounding trees. My wife and son were in the basement and called me to share what had just happened and that they were okay. Naturally, my gut reaction was that I needed to get home right away to make sure. It was after hours, so I called night ops. Adrienne answered, and after I shared what had happened and that I needed to get home, Adrienne reassured me that they were on it and told me she’d call me back as soon as she figured out a solution.
Not half an hour later, she called back and told me she was getting me an Uber home. Mind, I was in Grand Haven, Michigan at the time, and knew how expensive that would be for the company if I took that Uber. I called my wife back to confirm they were okay, and she said they were, so I ended up telling Adrienne I would stay out. I was so impressed that a company would do something like this. This would never happen at any other company – the care this company shows their employees is next level, and I really appreciate it.
