“What’s the most interesting load you’ve hauled?”
We ask this question each week in driver orientation. It never ceases to amaze us with the funny, strange, and just plain unique loads our drivers have hauled. Join us for part two of the most out of the ordinary loads.
- “Ben & Jerry’s ice cream — and I scored some for free”
- “A water tower. Water not included :)”
- “Siberian tiger. I picked it up in a cage and delivered for a circus. This was definitely a LIVE load (some call it Hazmat too).”
- “Paper that would go on to be made into Pokémon cards”
- “Bee food – I had a cloud of bees chasing me the whole load! When I went to pick it up, the place was SWARMING with bees. I had to relax a little and calm myself before picking that one up.”
- “Hauling for Wreaths Across America. It was very sobering to be in the convoy and deliver to cemetaries where the wreaths were placed.”
- “Teddy bears for disaster relief. Teddy bears of all sizes and colors. It filled my heart with so much joy to deliver them.”
- “A missle launch tube. Hey, I guess everything needs shipped at some point or another.”
- “Live turkeys”
- “Grain. But get this – it was in a dry van :(“
- “I hauled A/C units to Nevada nuclear testing facility Mercury Nevada. I was 12 miles from the last detonation of nuclear bomb set off here.”
- “Jet fuel for the air force.”
- “A large sign for the Pasture church in Hudson, IL”
- “Live Christmas Trees- they smelled WONDERFUL. Left quite a mess in the trailer afterwards though.”
- “Military guns. I had an armed bodyguard that rode shotgun with me and never left me out of his sight.”
- “A load of Fruity O’s. It smelled SO good!”
- “Crushed diamonds used in jewelery. I had a police escort and everything!”
- “Launch legs for a Space-X rocket. The rocket has three legs it sits on to balance. I hauled several to Space-X from Pendergrass, Ga. Those legs weigh over 45,000 lbs each. That is just the legs. When the rocket launches it complete destroys the launch pad. Imagine the thrust and heat.”
- “As a company, we used to haul cash/coins from pay phones. We had special security on the trailer.”
- “Nussbaum used to haul pharmaceutical items in a refrigerated trailer.”
- “Stackable Prison cells. They were made out of concrete and included a concrete bed.”
