The Load That Disappeared

Adrienne Riel

“I would like to nominate Adrienne for helping me to locate a load. I arrived at one of our drop yards in Ohio to pick up a load over the weekend. I unhooked my empty trailer and drove to what was supposed to be my loaded trailer. I saw that the doors were open (not good), and after walking around to the back, saw that the trailer was empty and had been in a wreck.

Now, I was on the hunt to find my load. I called after hours, and Adrienne answered the phone. I let her know that the trailer I was supposed to pick up was empty and had no load inside. She stayed on the phone with me while I proceeded to check all of the trailers on the lot. I found a trailer that had CAT parts on it, but no paperwork. We were confused at this point. She started digging to find out what was going on. While she was doing this, I went back to the assigned trailer and checked the bill box. Inside was the paperwork.

Adrienne stayed on the phone with me while I climbed into the trailer with the parts, to match part numbers on bills. We discovered that the repair shop had transferred the parts to a new trailer, but had failed to send a note to my DM about this transfer (at least not that we found). Adrienne checked with someone else in the office and got the go ahead for me to proceed with the load, in the new trailer. Thank you for helping an old man find the load. Adrienne, you are greatly appreciated! God bless you.” – Gene LaDuke
