Happy Father’s Day!

We’re excited to celebrate Dads and Dad-figures in our lives this weekend. Here’s to the men who raised us, the men who help raise our children, and the men who have influenced us to be who we are today.

Happy Father’s Day, Dads!

Kenneth Walters Jr.

My dad is from the “ain’t no job too low or too tough” and the “if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right” generation. He was not a perfect man but a darn good one. He was born without any quit in him. He’s 73 this year and still working. I love him to death, even on days I want to wring his neck.

Derek Rabe

My dad, Donald, was OTR trucking for the lion’s share of his career. He is the one on the far left in the picture. I loved going with Dad in the Semi, and it didn’t matter where. I have memories of I-80, Ohio, and Wyoming. The main thing was, I WAS WITH DAD.

Randy Woodkirk

My dad was with me when I became Certified RED. And he took a trip with me to Denver, CO.

Lisa Burton

My dad is hilarious. He’s also a straight shooter but a very caring person. I LOVE that he tells me he loves me. We tease a lot and talk about the good ole days and facts about WWII.

I was a tomboy growing up, and my dad and I wrestled and boxed together, which drove my mother crazy. We also watched boxing together on Saturday afternoons; I saw many Ali fights.

I grew up in Charleston, SC, and we would go to the beach a lot. Dad didn’t really care for it but went because we enjoyed it. He would gather us together and tell us stories under a blanket in the sand. I love his laugh and his old stories. This is by far my favorite photo of us.

Brent Martin

This ends up being one of the last pictures I ever got with my dad and boys (and Buzz and Woody 😊). We all went to Disney in January 2017, and he passed away later that year. We had a great time there and have a lot of cherished memories from that trip.

Almost four years later, I still miss him every day. We farmed together and were really close. He taught me so much – everything from practical skills (welding, for example) to the need for Jesus in my life and was a great example for Jessica and me as we raise our kids.

Kevin Funk

My dad was one of the most generous, God-fearing men I’ve ever known. He would always find a way to bring up the Lord in any situation. He was intentional with every person he met. We always said he could strike up a conversation with a rock 😊

He was always involved with our family and would often say that if he were called home to heaven, he would be ok with it because all his kids had accepted Jesus as their savior, and he knew he would be with us for eternity. He taught me many life lessons but most importantly, the need to be a light for Jesus in this world.

The Lord called him home on 8/26/2011, and he is missed dearly.

Oscar Flores

My father! Rolando Flores. This MAN has taught me everything and has made me the MAN I am today. Retro pic from the early 90’s when the “Mexican mullet” was in style.

Cole Zeller

My dad was my first real superhero. I have always appreciated his servant heart. He is a regular handyman, helping fix our cars, homes, and in a spiritual sense, reminding us to be thankful for a loving and faithful God despite our life circumstances. Love ya, pops!

Dan Ford

My dad, Roger

Jeni Nussbaum

My husband, Tom, is absolutely the fun parent. They know whom to go to when they have extra energy and need to wrestle and giggle. We are so thankful for him! Even though the noise level isn’t always appreciated 😊

My dad, Jan, has always been there for my brothers and me. He gave the best advice and made sure we knew how to handle life with a strong work ethic but still have fun. When our mom passed away, he stepped up in 100 more ways for us. Forever grateful to have him as my father.

Steve Heibert

Dad was a quiet, stoic man most of the time. You get him around kids, and his playful personality was a draw for most children. He was also a great teacher that believed in people. He always said he could learn something from anyone. This is saying a lot for a man who knew a lot.

He would love Nussbaum’s strive for excellence. He truly hated the words, “That’s good enough.” Be your best you were his words to live by. I miss him greatly, but he has left a legacy I follow!

Gary Miller

My son, Austin, drives for Martin Bros. He is also a father.

Paige Wood

Hello, Bruce! (But not the big, scary shark from Finding Nemo)

My dad is the opposite of scary. He drops anything to help anyone at any time, and he loves each of us so well. He’s taught me the importance of family, to always give 110% at what I’m doing, and to serve others whenever I can.

Sam Schoonhoven

That’s me and my dad. He’s taught me more than he ever thought.

Saige Anderson

I lost when Dad when I was only 14. Yet, what I gained this past year is pure treasure. Tim Aberle is a stand-in Dad. He teaches me something new each day, takes me on adventures, gives me a place to call home, reminds me I’m worth something, and, most importantly, always points me to Jesus.

Happy Father’s Day, Tim!
