“I was blown away when I saw it. Those that know me, know that it takes a whole lot to leave me speechless. This almost did it. Almost.”
If this can leave Clark Reed (almost) speechless, you know it’s big news. And when this eyebrow-raising news rolled into the lot, it practically reflected a red cast on everything it passed. Are you ready to be struck by this surprise?
It’s a new Nussbaum truck – but not an ordinary one.
Nussbaum has a brand new, hot-off-the-line, jaw-dropping 2021 Freightliner Cascadia to try out. And it looks a little different than the company’s predecessors.
Tony Morthland comments, “I’ve been on Brent to change the image of our trucks since we’ve changed the wraps on the trailers. And now it’s probably going to be our new look. We ordered another ten trucks to be delivered this year yet.”
The eye-catching red is still there, but it is set off even more dramatically with black accents, a black Nussbaum logo emphasized with a silvery outline, and wheels that you’ll have to see to believe.
“When we were working on the design, we had planned to change the grill and wheel covers to black, but Brent was working behind the scenes to paint the steps and center of the hoods black as well. He beat me to the punch on that!” Tony says with a smile.
The truck is a CDU (Customer Demo Unit) that lucky Nussbaum driver Clark Reed gets to put some miles on. Clark will be testing the disconnectable tandem that won’t come out to the public until 2022 and its effect on fuel mileage. Tony nods, “We’ll have all year to test and see how it works to see if we want to spec the 2023 model year trucks with them for us in 2022.”
Soon, Clark will move in and start the trial. He enthuses, “I am humbled to be given the opportunity to drive such a beautiful truck. Thanks to Brent Nussbaum, Tony Morthland, and everyone else that had a part in this.”
