“I was just a lost, hurt soul….trying to find my way, and I just couldn’t.”
That’s how Teresa describes the lowest moment of her life—homeless and hopeless as a single mom, bouncing from shelter to shelter, even fighting a legal battle for her son. But the seed of faith—planted years before by her grandfather—carried her through the storm. “The only thing I knew to do was pray…..I knew that He was there…..God never leaves you,” Teresa says.
And just at the right moment, she got the chance to attend CDL School on a full-ride grant—the first step towards a new life. The past few years have been a journey, but Teresa points to God’s faithfulness again and again. With the help of generous friends and a praying community around her, Teresa found her way—out of homelessness, into trucking, and eventually to Nussbaum.
