Taking Care of One Another Like Family

Driver Gordon Young fell terribly ill out on the road by himself. What could have been a tragic story was stopped fast by caring and kindness. We are thankful that Gordon has returned to health!

“This week my dog and I stopped in Cheyenne to break, and I bought some chicken wings. Almost immediately after eating, I doubled over in pain.

After reporting this to the truck stop, we kept driving and I made it to the Flying J in Iowa at exit 40.

I kept getting weaker and I reached out to my DM, Derek Rabe, who notified all in the chain of command.

Mitch called me and let me know if I needed a doctor the company would get on it. At about 1500 I had uncontrollable shaking and high fever. Derek called to check on me and then got in touch with Rick Schmidt who called me and ordered an ambulance.

When I got to the hospital they told me I had advanced sepsis from food poisoning, and if I would have waited I might not have made it. Thanks to Derek, Mitch, and Rick for caring for the drivers.”
