A Benevolence Highlight
Spread Truth is a local ministry that aims to make evangelism easy for everyone. The organization began with Jerry and Genie McCorkle (a pastor and his wife) taking students to New York City to share the Gospel. Today, they offer a variety of evangelism courses and tools to help spread the Gospel message, spanning all ages and comfort levels. Spread Truth is 100% donor funded.

Trainings & Tools
Spread Truth’s Digital Training course gives Christians the tools to address sensitive topics in the modern World. Group Training teaches the story of God’s redemption and how to easily share it with others. And their Children’s Training is just what it sounds like—a way for kids to grasp God’s plan and His story and share it with those around them.
Spread Truth also offers a free app called “The Story,” designed to make sharing the Gospel easy (and available!) for everyone. Their “walk-through” resources can equip you to talk with anyone about the Gospel.
NYC Thanksgiving Trip
In a throwback to their roots, Spread Truth takes an annual trip to New York City to encourage others and share the gospel story. The trip is pre-scheduled, so you never have to worry about where you are going next. (And of course, they build in time to explore the sights if you so choose!)
Attendees will experience evangelistic prayer with New Yorkers, the Story Wall (where everyone can share their stories!), worldview surveys (asking simple “big picture” questions), and food distribution at 9 Million Reasons (NYC’s largest food pantry).
Spread Truth Africa
In 2017, Spread Truth expanded their reach to another continent—Africa! Reverend Hamisi Kirenga participated in the NYC Thanksgiving trip and left with a vision for bringing this mission back to Kenya where he was already ministering. In 2018, he joined the Spread Truth staff as Director of Spread Truth Africa.
Today, the organization has four other staff members working to impact the African people. Spread Truth Africa includes four different programs:
- Sports Outreaches—an opportunity for community gatherings and evangelism.
- Food Delivery—through a partnership with Midwest Food Bank.
- FGM Initiative—a holistic ministry to reach young girls and women who have experienced female genital mutilation.
- Pastoral Training—free classes to encourage and support evangelism.
Spreading Truth to the World
Spread Truth’s goal is to bring the Gospel to the ends of the world. They do this by making easily accessible print and digital resources to help spread the truth of God’s Plan and Story. They believe that “true hope will be known around the world when everyone, everywhere, is connected to God’s rescue in Jesus and experiences true life through the beauty of God’s Story.”
