Out of 3,859 truck carriers in the EPA SmartWay program, Nussbaum is one of 29 (Top 1%) to be chosen as a 2024 SmartWay Excellence Winner!
What does the award mean?
The SmartWay Excellence Award honors transportation and logistics companies for “exceptional environmental performance.” Basically, the EPA looked at the following criteria:
- Our history of timely, accurate, and high-quality data submissions (we fill out an annual survey from EPA)
- Our emissions numbers – CO2 (carbon dioxide), NOx (nitrogen oxide), and PM (particulate matter)
- Evidence of freight sustainability leadership – how Nussbaum is driving change, influencing the industry, running efficiently, etc.
How did we do it?
