New Hire Drivers
Alexander “Alex” Ertmann
Domicile: Streamwood, IL
Alex started out driving Sprinter vans OTR back in October of 2021 and drove until January of 2023. He decided that the Sprinter van wasn’t for him anymore and after driving all over the country in the van he kept seeing semi’s drive along side and decided it was perfect for him. Alex grew up in Chicago and was born in Lincoln Park where he lived there for a few years before he moved to Glenview and later moved to Winnetka. He’s been there ever since. Believe it or not Alex is a professional racecar driver! He’s been racing since he was 8 and now he’s 24 and with 16 years of racing under his belt. His ultimate goal is to make it into NASCAR. He has been racing short tracks here in the Midwest for years and loves it. His favorite memory on the road was when he was driving a sprinter from Casa Grande, Arizona to Orlando, Florida and witnessed the sunsets through New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona- it was the most beautiful ever! Alex’s ideal road snack is carrots and ranch dressing.
Dream vacation: Tokyo, Japan!
Chaz Welch
Domicile: Nussbaum
Chaz is fresh out of school and excited to be trucking at Nussbaum! Chaz got into trucking because he was used to being around trucks on a farm. He grew up in Bloomington, IL and enjoys research, sports, laundry, and movies when he’s not on the road. His favorite memory on the road was driving into Saint Louis and his ideal road snack has to be fruit snacks.
Dream vacation: Germany
Debra Tucker
Domicile: Springfield, IL
Debra is new to trucking and got into it because she retired from the state of Illinois. She grew up in Centreville, IL. When shes not on the road she enjoys crafting and visiting with her family. Her ideal road snack is Belvita biscuits. Debra is a proud mom, grandma, AND great grandma!
Dream vacation: Jamaica
David “Dave” Hagan
Domicile: Fairburn, GA
Dave has been trucking for 6.5 years and got into it because of the better pay. He grew up in Fernadina Beach, FL. When not on the road Dave likes to workout, read, and watch Netflix. His favorite memory on the road is driving through beautiful Utah. His ideal road snack is raw Cauliflower. It’s been a great snack since he has been on a keto vegan diet due to health concerns.
Dream vacation: Ireland
Erin Hormell
Domicile: Indianapolis, IN
Erin has been driving for 34 years. She got into it because she believes she did not make a great waitress. Erin grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. When not on the road she enjoys going to rock concerts and museums. Her favorite memory on the road was seeing a bobcat run out on the road. Her ideal road snack is spam musubi and she loves heavy metal and unique architecture.
Dream vacation: Anywhere you can swim
Ryan Hamman
Domicile: Columbia City, IN
Ryan has been driving for 2 years and got into trucking because the manufacturing plant that he was managing was sold to another company. Ryan grew up in Fort Wayne, IN and is now a proud Laker. When not on the road Ryan loves to spend time with his family. Ryan’s favorite memory on the road was waking up to the sunrise over the mountains in PA.
Favorite Road Snack: Peanut Butter M&M’s
New Tech Hires
Chad Jones
We are thrilled to share that Chad Jones will be taking on our position here as a trailer tech. Chad will be starting with us on 8/5/2024. Chad has spent the last 3.5 years working in town for a small truck and trailer repair shop. Overall, he has 12+ years working as a mechanic ranging from Diesel to farm hand! We look forward to having him join the Nussbaum team!
