Mike Spitzer
Domicile: Liberty, IL
Mike Spitzer has been driving for 2 years, having grown up around the heavy haul trucking industry. He’s from Central Valley, California, and when he’s not on the road, he enjoys spending time with his wife and kids. Before trucking, Mike was a professional Chef and had the pleasure of preparing delicious foods around the world – even preparing a dish for the President once! One of his favorite memories is that he delivered a load to the Natural History Museum in Oklahoma City and he got a private tour of the museum after the delivery. His go-to road snack is sour gummy bears. Mike is a proud U.S. Army veteran. He’s passionate about helping others grow and believes in lifelong learning and has strong family values. Jeff Nelson
Domicile: Nussbaum
Jeff Nelson is a new driver who joined the industry to try something new and build a lasting career. Before trucking, Jeff had his own forklift business and worked at Rivian and Ferrero in Bloomington. He’s from the Chicago/Springfield, IL area and enjoys working on home projects, fixing vehicles, and fishing. A favorite memory of his is a long road trip to Oklahoma with his fiancée, which turned into a great experience thanks to her energy and excitement. Jeff’s favorite road foods are pizza, burgers, and hotdogs. He’s very sociable, easy to get along with, and a great communicator. Welcome to Nussbaum, Jeff!

Fulton Guaso
Domicile: Elgin, IL
Fulton Dy Guaso has been driving for over a year, driven by his love for big trucks and being on the road. Before trucking Fulton worked on oil rigs around the world and spent some time in Qatar. Fun fact about Fulton is that he was briefly freatured on the Netflix documentary Last Breath for his work. He’s originally from Negros Occidental in the Philippines and enjoys spending quality time with his family when he’s not driving. His most memorable experience so far was his first week as a solo OTR driver. His favorite road snack is biscuits. Welcome to Nussbaum, Fulton!

Luis Romero
Domicile: Channahon, IL
Luis Romero is a new driver who turned his love for highway driving into a career. Originally from Mexico City, Luis enjoys spending time with his family, going to the movies, and watching his children’s sports activities. He loves singing and taking in scenic views while driving. His favorite road snack is chips with salsa and a Coke. Luis dreams of retiring in an RV so he can continue exploring the road with his family. Welcome to Nussbaum, Luis!

New Hire Shop
Gabe Tomlinson
We are thrilled to share that Gabe Tomlinson will be starting with Nussbaum on 5/12/2025 as a Maintenance Coordinator. There was a post on this a few months back, but to share a little background, we are looking to strengthen the internal after-hours shop team vs relying on FleetNet. With this Jared Robinson with John Lovell that is set up similarly to our Operations after-hours team. With this move, we had an opening for a Maintenance Coordinator. Gabe has spent some time as a Diesel Tech where he has worked on semis as well as smaller diesel equipment. Many here may have heard of Aguru, where he spent time as a production manager, Research and Development and assembly manager. Being at a smaller company gave him the ability to experience many areas. We look forward to having him start with us next Monday and adding him to the Nussbaum shop team!
