Tiras Jordan

Domicile: Somerset, PA

Tiras has been driving since 2019. He grew up in Maryland, and his ideal road snack is anything high in protein and low in calories. When asked what got him into trucking, he says, “When I set out to launch my first investment fund, I hit a roadblock in securing capital due to my lack of a track record. Feeling disheartened, I searched for alternative ways to make my dream a reality. One ordinary morning on my commute to work, a vibrant ad on the back of a passing trailer caught my eye, boasting a weekly pay of $2,500 in the trucking industry. Intrigued, I delved into researching this new avenue and found myself captivated by the idea. It dawned on me that trucking could be the unexpected yet perfect means to bootstrap my fund, and so began my journey into the world of trucking, a decision that changed my life in ways I could never have imagined.”

When not on the road, Tiras stays busy as the founder of the Owner Operators Advocacy group to champion the rights of fellow owner operators. He is also a full-time student at UMGC pursuing his major in Data Science with a minor in accounting.

Tiras also had this to share about his personal life: “As we’re getting to know each other, there are a few things I’m excited to share. Firstly, I’m currently pouring my heart and soul into writing a book that delves into the critical human rights issues within the transportation industry, a subject very close to my heart. On the home front, I’m a husband and proud father of three incredible girls, and we’re eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first boy in April. In addition to all of this, I’m actively working on expanding my multi-family real estate portfolio and currently in negotiations for a small fleet local contract running from the ports. On a more personal note, I also play semi-pro basketball in the ABA for the Tri-State Blazers, which keeps my competitive spirit alive and well. These various facets of my life keep me grounded and motivated each day.”

Dream vacation: Jordan
