Inauguration Day
“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”
Presidential Oath of Office
Today is Inauguration Day.
The new President of the United States, Joe Biden, will move his family into the White House, breathe a sigh of relief after the inauguration ceremony is finished, and prepare for the pressures of his new position.
Amidst the ceremonies and events of the day, let’s pray for our newly elected leaders.
Regardless of our opinions, we should want to see them succeed. Perhaps you don’t want them to succeed in their personal agendas, but we can all pray that they will succeed in bringing the American people together.
Pray…
- That they will succeed in establishing a commonality among the people.
- That their accomplishments will better our great nation and its people.
- That the divide in our country will not advance but will begin healing.
Hoping for failure in the President of the United States is hoping for the failure of our country. Shooting ourselves in the foot is the saying that comes to mind.
The POTUS has the power and capability to do good things for the American people – let’s pray and support that he will use that power to do great things for our country.
Happy Inauguration Day!
