Good morning Everyone!
I wanted to share some fascinating before-and-after photos from one of our trailers that suffered a bridge strike earlier this year. This was one of the first major projects that the Hudson East Trailer Shop had performed! Two things that we learned from this process:
Parts availability: We found that a lot of these major components take much longer to receive than we initially thought. These parts are less commonly used and take up a significant amount of space in parts warehouses. We are now preemptively stocking more of the upper and lower side rails, as well as side panels and seams.
Reconstruction Information: Little did we know, the information on how to put one of these trailers back together is not widely shared. Most trailer repair companies will keep these trade secrets close to maintain their competitive edge. Most of the detail work and information on dimensions was gathered with a sister trailer in the bay next to it.
Overall, the team is stoked on how this turned out and have learned a great deal in the process! Enjoy the photos.
