What do you find hope in?
We all draw hope and fulfillment from things in our lives. Maybe it’s your family, or your job, or your 401k, or being liked by other people? Those things aren’t inherently bad but will they always deliver on their promise? Will they always be true? The amazing news about Jesus rising from the grave is that He has and will fulfill every promise. He is the only hope that won’t fail. Death does not have the final word. We can bank on God now and in the future because He is alive.
Other hopes may fade but the hope of new life through Jesus will not.
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live,
and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.’
John 11:25-26
Jesus died and rose again – he is alive and through him, we find the fullness of life. No matter what the future holds, we know who holds the future. Whether the stock markets crash, illness comes, or death, our future is secure. Like our trailers say, we know, ‘there is hope in troubled times.’ We rejoice in that good news today.
