My admiration for truck drivers only increases the longer I work at Nussbaum. I appreciate our drivers for many reasons, but topping my list is how they battle the elements daily. And it’s not just the summer heat or the icy/snowy roads – it’s the traffic, the blind-side backing into an alley, and the equipment breakdowns they endure. Some may say these issues are “part of the job,” but I say it takes someone pretty special to keep coming back to the same ol’ roads when things are stacked against them.
A driver who can face the hardships, endure the “elements” of the trucking life and still walk around with a smile on their face – that’s what I appreciate the most! We have many of these drivers, and I am grateful for every mile they are out there doing their best and making the roads a safe place to be!
