Being a Good Leader

Trevor Davis and Dalton Hodel

It was a horribly hot day out in the shop. While we are working on trucks, Dalton and the leads always make their rounds checking on all the techs. But the other day, Ben Williams ended up with two trucks back-to-back that the air conditioner wasn’t repaired yet. Usually this is not a big deal. But, no air movement in the truck makes interior work even hotter. We had fans going and had done everything possible to make it tolerable. Ben and I aren’t the ones to complain much, so we just went on about doing our job.

When Dalton and Trevor learned of this, they dropped what they were doing and immediately repaired the air conditioner in the truck. I get the joy of seeing them do things like this every day. Ben, being new still, was amazed at the urgency they put into ensuring he was in a safe work environment. So often, it is easy to get into a routine that overlooks the good things in our workplace. Dalton and Trevor went the extra mile to care for us. I feel that this is a perfect example of being good stewards of our company, led by God to take care of others. I am the lucky one who gets to see these two in action daily, putting others in the shop before themselves. Praise God for all the good we get to witness in our workplace. -Todd Evans
