An O-fish-ially Great Day
We were gifted a great day Saturday, September 30th. It marked our sixth year of hosting the Fishing Derby as a kick-off to ESOP month! The morning was filled with smiles, excitement, laughter, and of course – full bellies (from donuts, hot dogs, brats, sugar cookies, and fresh-off-the-hook fried fish). The lakeshore was packed with excited fishers (a special thank you to our maintenance department for getting everything cleaned up and ready for the day!) and the derby kicked off at 9am.
We had 202 registered fishers and just under 400 total people in attendance, almost double the attendance of last year’s derby! Our biggest catch weighed in at a whopping 12.6 lbs, a Nussbaum record! In total, 180 fish were caught.
Thank you to all our volunteers and employee-owners for making this possible!
