Chris Smith / John Finch
I was shut down in Wyoming on Saturday afternoon. Winter storm Oliver reared its ugly head and there it was, the infamous “rolling closures”….Several of our drivers were stuck in the same vicinity. As the weather reports came out, it would have been Friday or Saturday before we were going to make it through Wyoming. On Tuesday morning, I received a call from my Driver Manager, Chris Smith. He informed me that another driver was heading to the same location that I was and was able to be re-routed where the storm hadn’t struck yet. He gave me the details and, with John’s permission, connected the two of us. I was about to embark on my first winter weather driving trip, and as luck would have it, the route was going through the Rockies. Because of the trust I have in Chris, I figured I’d go for it. Heck, he always has my back! I contacted John and he was so patient and so kind. He explained the routing and timeline to me. Because he was about 150 ahead of me, he assured me that he would let me know if he ran into bad weather or road conditions. It was because of Chris Smith and John Finch that I am not stuck on I-80 and was able to deliver this load before the weekend. I’m so grateful to work for a company that is purpose-driven, in everything we do. The Lord’s blessings to Chris and John. – Brenda Davis
