Jim Lercher
“I would like to nominate James Lercher for an OWNit Moment. I would take 30 more drivers just like Jim! He took an Oberweis load from North Aurora to St. Louis, and glass bottles filled with milk were broken at BOTH locations, resulting in a pretty nasty trailer. Jim took it upon himself to take it to get cleaned the next morning.
He has gotten up way earlier than required to take Oberweis loads, going above and beyond to accommodate them. He is always willing to assist with loading and unloading trailers and has done it by himself on numerous occasions when no one else is around to do it. His work ethic is excellent, and he represents Nussbaum very well, every single day! There isn’t a week that goes by that he doesn’t go above and beyond what is required of him. I would like to recognize Jim for living out the Nussbaum vision and mission!
His daily life (just the few things mentioned above) encapsulates an OWNit Moment by itself, but there is one moment I would like to specifically shout out. Oberweis requested that Jim leave North Aurora at 2:00am (rather than 9:00am) to get a load of ice cream to their customer’s warehouse. Oberweis was trying to gain this specific customer as a permanent account and asked if we could get the order to them first-thing in the morning to aid in that venture.
In order to deliver within their window, Jim was going to have to leave well before his normal scheduled time. Jim has always told me, “My job is to make our customer happy and to make Nussbaum look great.” Because of that attitude, Jim agreed to drive to North Aurora Sunday evening to put in his 10 prior to leaving for St. Louis. As a result, Jim made the delivery and Oberweis was so appreciative and grateful that someone would go out of their way like that to help. This is merely one example of what Jim does on a week-to-week basis and I couldn’t be more thrilled to have him on my team! Thank you, Jim!” –Jeremy Short
