Tender Mercies: Offering Nutrition, Giving Hope

The Nussbaum Benevolence Committee is hosting another Tender Mercies packing event on Tuesday, November 14 in the Tillie Room. (We hosted our first Tender Mercies event last October – see a recap of it here).

The event will be voluntary, with groups working together assembly-style. If you’d like to play a part, sign up using the link below. There will be 15-minute time slots available from 9am – 11am (for groups of ten), and 30-minute time slots available from 11am – 2pm (for groups of twenty). We look forward to seeing you there!

PS – We requested a LOT more supplies this year (re: running out of product before noon last year)!

What is Tender Mercies?

Designed by dieticians to provide critical nutrition, Tender Mercies meals are a mighty ally in the fight against food insecurity. They provide wholesome high-quality nutrition. Savory rice and beans are the foundation of the first Tender Mercies recipe. To ensure maximum nutritional value, they’re fortified with protein, essential vitamins, and minerals. Tender Mercies meals are delicious by themselves or as a base for other tasty recipes.

Thanks to sponsorships, it is possible to purchase high-quality ingredients which become meals that are given to local food pantries to distribute to individuals and families. In 2020, Midwest Food Bank distributed 11.64 million Tender Mercies Meals.
