Purpose Driven // Who are you driving for?

Who are you driving for?

By: Tyler Dietrich

Focused, positive, energetic, effective, quality, and successful.

These adjectives reflect being Purpose Driven. They explain HOW we act Purpose Driven and just by looking at them we can see why someone would want to BE Purpose Driven.

So, who are we driving for…?

You might think that is a bit of a silly question, especially for those of you who Class A CDL Drivers are. Clearly, we all work for Nussbaum. Let me explain why it isn’t.

One of the things that quickly becomes evident to those who interact with our company is that we are different.

  • The People Element folks who do our engagement survey consider us unique, joking to each other that if you want to see ‘real engagement’ just step out of your car in the Nussbaum parking lot and someone you don’t know will say hello to you.
  • Our customers routinely comment on our polite drivers, friendly office staff and great service.
  • Office employees transitioning in from other jobs mention the caring and helpful culture.
  • Even Vendors often praise our partnerships as we strive for mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Even our bottom line is catching the eye of the industry.

Why do we get these positive benefits? What does this have to do with who we’re driving for?

We get them because at the root of these benefits is selflessness. And selflessness is one of the largest and most impactful blessings here on earth.

This has to do with who we’re driving for because we’re purpose driven for each other. We’re purposefully and intentionally acting in these ways to benefit each other. Which in turn is a benefit to our entire organization. Even to the bottom line.

And it doesn’t stop there.

Many of us are also driving for someone else, someone even more worth serving than each other with even more benefits than a great culture and solid income statement.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men;

Colossians 3:23
