Trainer Recognition
Last week we launched our Trainer Recognition & Incentive Program. This week we want to highlight the men and women who have led and guided our students here at Nussbaum. We are grateful for the sacrifice of time and patience that comes with molding students into safe and responsible drivers!
Here is what a few of our trainees had to say about our Master Trainers.
Master Trainers / 40 Weeks
Bill Petersen
“Learning from Bill was an enjoyable and invaluable experience. His instruction and feedback were extremely useful for a new driver like me, and I use the lessons from that experience nearly every day. From how he runs his day, to how to handle challenging driving situations, it has made me a better driver.” -Brian Otten
Bobby Joy
“Bobby is one of those people that from the first time you say hello to him it is like meeting an old friend you haven’t seen in years. He is very patient and offers advice and insight only when he feels it will make the student a better driver. He truly wants the Nussbaum drivers to be recognized in the industry as the best driver on the road. Now that I am driving by myself I still hear some “Bobbyisms”
“Own the curb”, “Signal your intentions”, and “You have to break some eggs to make an omelet”. I still haven’t figured out how an omelet applies to driving but I am sure it will come to me someday. Speaking of food, training with Bobby is like being in college again and getting the freshman 15 pounds. Half the fun of driving with Bobby is creating a menu for next week’s training. After driving all day it was nice to sit down for a home-cooked meal. A very big, loud shout out to his wife Amy who prepared the meals with Bobby. What a true asset Bobby is to Nussbaum and all future Nussbaum drivers.” – Matt “Grasshopper” Dutton
“Bobby taught me everything I know. But, he wasn’t just my trainer. I felt like he was THE person that needed to teach me to do this job right. I don’t think I would be driving if it wasn’t for him. He has more than earned the title of Master.” -Max Witzigreuter
Jason Van Beber
“I have found Jason to be a man of integrity and a man with a maturity well beyond his years. He possesses a wonderful temperament to serve Nussbaum Transportation as a trainer. He is very patient, trains to the needs of each trainee, and provides more than sufficient encouragement to cause those who want to succeed, to be the best driver they can be. I am proud to be one of those trainees.
I have found that he is also a “Master Chef” making the best, most delicious meals a person could possibly ask for while cooking in a truck. In my opinion, I believe we have established a wonderful relationship. I would even go far as to say we have become very fast friends. I am honored that Jason was MY trainer. Jason, I love you brother. Keep up the great work you are doing. You deserve the honor of being called a MASTER TRAINER!” -Kenneth Bugler
Charlie Gochanour
“Charlie Gochanour is a wonderful guy and an even greater trainer. He has an unreal wealth of knowledge and I had such a great time learning from him. I enjoyed it so much I would like to train again with him in winter going out West.” -James Douglas
Matt Haton
“Matthew Haton was an awesome trainer! He knows what he’s doing and teaches it well. I learned a lot about being responsible and reliable from him and his communication skills were great. I think he is a great trainer for people (like me) who are new to commercial truck driving.” -Jack Steele
