Father’s Day
Today can be a hard one if our protector, teacher, and encourager are not still with us. But we hope it can serve as a day to remember how they shaped us into the person we are. May we remember the men who picked us up when we fell, and helped us try again.
Happy Father’s Day to our Dads!

Here’s my dad! The calmest man alive – which was very necessary with a chaotic life like my family’s. he gave me my work ethic, sense of humor, and love of spicy food.

My Dad was a Korean War Veteran, He built houses and told me that I had to work for the things I wanted to accomplish. My son Garrett would have to tell you what I taught him..lol. Happy Father’s day to the Dads out there!

The first picture was from 2019 when I had a load that took me passed Holly Springs, MS (where my uncle and aunt lived). My uncle instilled in me at an early age what it means to have a good work ethic and multiple sources of income.
The second picture is of my Mom, Dad, and I at my husband’s 50th birthday party on May 7th, 2022. My dad is retired from the Navy, and he has a lot of good traits. However, the one I get the most from my dad is time management and critical thinking.
The third and fourth picture is from my husband’s 50th birthday party on May 7th, 2022.
The third picture features our six biological children, my mother in love, myself, and my husband,
The fourth picture is a picture of our six children, plus our bounce children, some of our grandchildren, our bounce grandchildren, my parents, my mother-in-love, my father-in-love myself, and my husband. I have known my husband since our teenage years, and he has always had a giving spirit and the desire to help improve someone’s circumstances. His trait of giving is one of the reasons we have bounce children and bounce grandchildren.

I have 2 fathers, Joe (biological father) & Jim (step-father/bonus father).
I always appreciate that my Dad Joe is always willing to help me when I need it and I help him & support him as well. He’s always curious to know my work schedule while on the road. And he has an amazing sense of humor, you can definitely count on him for silly dad jokes, & The Three Stooges always make him laugh.
My stepdad/bonus Dad Jim is also very supportive to me as I am to him, & we get along really well. Accepting new relatives like him wasn’t easy at first, but he grew on me, & we became very close. He & Mom plan for whenever I’m visiting which attractions to check out, & he has also motivated me to try new things.

This is one of my absolute favorite photos of my Dad. My dad was in the Navy for 20 years. His last station was in Charleston SC, where I grew up. This photo was taken when I was a little girl, and he was heading out to sea for a bit. The Navy was instrumental in developing my father since he grew up without one. They provided structure, direction, and promoted self-worth within him. I am grateful for him and his service to our country and to our family.

I lost my dad in the fall of 2017. He really loved old tractors – this was the last one he bought before he died. I remember he had texted me and said he needed me to stop after work and look at something. He had it sitting in the shop all cleaned up and was all smiles when I walked in. I am super thankful for his example, love of Christ and family, and all that he taught me.

Dad went home to be with the Lord on 8/26/2011. Miss him more every day but can’t wait to see him again!

My dad (Mike Penix) and I are always together, whether out here on the road or BBQing something on the weekends, we always try to have a good time.

Here’s a picture of my siblings and me playing in a pile of corn with my dad.
Quick story of my dad- he was watching the movie Courageous. At the end of the movie, a crowd is asked who will courageously lead. One by one, people stand up and say, “I will.” The music was building, and I guess my dad forgot he was at the movie theater so he stands up and shouts, “I will!” He turns around, expecting the whole theater to be standing with him, but it was just him. He sheepishly sat down but we still get a big laugh out of this when we think of it.

This is one of my favorite pictures from when we were little. That is my dad, Mike, and my brother and sister back in 1988.
