John Gray has been driving for 3 years, making the switch from the hotel industry for a change of pace. He’s from Stanton, KY, and enjoys spending time with friends and family, relaxing with games and books. One of his favorite memories is visiting the I-80 truck stop for the first time. Tre Taylor
Domicile: Alsip, IL
Tre Taylor has been driving for 8 years, drawn to the independence and the opportunity to see the country. He previously worked as a package handler at FedEx and is from the South Side of Chicago. Tre enjoys spending time with family and cooking. A favorite memory is taking a semi-truck across water on the East Coast. His favorite road snacks are Hot Cheetos and a Watermelon Arizona. Jason Barnes
Domicile: Jacksonville, IL
Jason Barnes has been driving for 4 years, after COVID hit the barbering industry hard. He made the leap to trucking after attending driving school. Jason is from Pittsfield, IL and also spent many years pastoring a local church. He enjoys spending time with family, being involved in church—leading singing and running media—and loves to draw. A favorite memory is having his youngest son ride with him for a week without a single complaint. His favorite snacks are pistachios and jerky. Jason has been married for 27 years, has 6 children and 3 grandchildren, and feels truly blessed. Welcome to Nussbaum, Jason!

Ken Isaak
Domicile: Pella, IA
Ken Isaak has been driving for 10 years, getting into the industry through a mutual favor with a friend. He previously worked as a software engineer and is from Costa Mesa, CA. Ken enjoys sleeping, hanging out with friends, walking his dogs, building model airplanes, and a bit of doom scrolling. He loves the beauty of the open road and the conversations with fellow drivers. Phillip Jacobs
Domicile: Elgin, IL
Phillip Jacobs has been driving for 2 years, encouraged by family members to give trucking a try. He previously worked in hospitality as a bartender, waiter, and line cook at a hospital. Phillip is from Chicago, IL, and enjoys spending time with his kids, cooking, baking, relaxing, and catching up on sleep. A favorite memory is driving into California from the desert for the first time. His favorite snack? Chips—especially UTZ chips. Phillip is actively working on living a healthier lifestyle. Rick Boelman

Rick Boelman brings an incredible 42 years of driving experience, starting with milk deliveries at 2 a.m. while still in high school. He’s from Waterloo, Iowa, and has driven ready-mix and dump trucks throughout his career. Rick enjoys spending time with his wife and attending his grandkids’ activities. A standout memory is hauling military equipment with government officials escorting the load. His favorite road snack is fruit. Rick loves meeting new people and visiting new places. Caleb Gee
Director of Open Deck Sales
We are excited to share with you that Caleb Gee has accepted the position for open deck sales. Caleb has been with Nussbaum for 8.5 years where about 6.5 of those have been as a Driver Hiring Manager. We look forward to bringing that knowledge over to Sales. HR might scoff about it but that is because we know sales is getting a great guy! We are not 100% on the timeline on this but we are looking forward to the arm wrestle match between Joe and Chris to determine that timeline. Congrats Caleb.
New Shop Rehire

Tyler Rossman
Diesel Technician
Tyler Rossman is returning to work here at Nussbaum! Tyler was with Nussbaum for 6 years and his last day was just a couple weeks ago. Things were not quite what he was hoping for with him and his family and the new place. He will be starting back with us on 6/8/2025. We had already filled the shift that he was on, but he will be coming back and working on the Sun – Wed 2pm – 12:30 AM team out in the west shop! We are excited to welcome Tyler back and thank you to each and every one of you that makes Nussbaum the culture that it is!
