What was one of your favorite Nussbaum moments this year?
Part two of this series:
What was one of your favorite (Nussbaum) moments this year?
Joseph Anderson: Hard to narrow down! The anticipation of Jordan Wagner’s annual, two-week hiatus in December always brings a smile to my face though.
Chris Aranda: Our team continues to celebrate milestones. Weddings, house hunting, kids going to college/new schools, new relationships, etc. It’s been great to see us appreciate the wins, pray through the struggles, and encourage each other along the way.
Neil Barbour: I was able to participate in the ESOP breakfast, which was fun and showed me that there are a lot of young people working here.
Joseph Bendorf: My favorite Nussbaum moment was the day I was hired on with Nussbaum.
Jessi Blunier: Getting to work on the ESOPoly game and see it come to life in October!
Addison Bohler: Shop Appreciation Day was a blast! It was great to hang out with my co-workers in a relaxed atmosphere. We played cornhole and enjoyed some amazing steak right at work—what could be better?
Doug Bradle: Watching the IT Team win ESOP Jeopardy.
Lisa Burton: Celebrating my 6th anniversary here and receiving some very nice emails and in-person visits.
CJ Conger: Celebrating my 3-year work anniversary and many Certified RED presentations of drivers I had the pleasure of hiring!
Jackie Derrick: My vacation time from Nussbaum allowed me to enjoy my trip to the U.P.
Tyler Dietrich: Having the Overdrive Software team and their families over for goat milk ice cream and homemade cookies with milk from our new cow.
Derek Dotterer: Switching to Product Management from the Help Desk team.
Kevin Funk: I was able to attend the TAC (Trucking Analytics Council) meeting in Nashville. It was a great experience to collaborate with other trucking companies across the US.
Ed Gabriel: My favorite Nussbaum moment was completing the program to become Senior Driver Manager / hitting my 1-year anniversary.
Caleb Gee: Honestly, I would probably have to say some of the conversations throughout the year with others. Some really good ones beyond trading pleasantries, but actually getting to talk about real life important things in others lives.
Wyatt Gerber: Me and Eric Hartter winning the pickleball tournament.
Gabriel Gonzalez: That would definitely be getting hired on by Nussbaum. I’m so grateful to the hiring manager (Caleb) that gave me this opportunity to join such an amazing, successful company. My life, stress levels, and happiness have changed because of this.
Eric Hartter: Becoming a pickleball champion 😊
Kelly Hayslett: Hearing that Uline appreciates all the hard work we put in for them. Because they respect us and our work ethic, we were able to secure an additional 7 loads/day starting in February.
Scott Herrmann: I really enjoyed seeing the energy and growth on the IT teams this year. We’ve got a lot of great, talented people and it’s fun to watch that energy start to translate more and more into impacting the rest of Nussbaum. The Loadmatch project and Shop Planner projects are what come to mind first.
Maya Hodel: Learning to plan in this new Fleet Planner role.
Michelle Hoerner: Getting hired!
Joy Kinsinger: Getting hired! And helping bring an ESOP Jeopardy win to the Nussbaum IT team!
Ryan Mara: Winning dedicated business.
Brent Martin: A highlight of this year (while it was a lot of work for all involved) was to see such engagement and progress in the Executive DM program by so many of the DMs. I’m proud of them!
Jake Miller: Witnessing Dale have a nice piece of soap for a morning snack (he thought it was fudge).
Klay Nafziger: Rejoining the HR/Safety group. It’s a blessing to be back at Nussbaum.
Tianne Overmyer: I really enjoy all of the people that call in and are so touched by the verses and pictures on our trailers. The Lord is so good to bring both of these together at the same time to speak to their hearts and encourage them.
Bill Parker: Seeing my DM and planner (Matt Gordon and Mitch LaTulip) win the DM of the Month gold cup.
Toby Plattner: Learning to joyfully practice the use of a “Friday Mug”! I learned from Sydney and the Rev Team that you really ought to have a fun coffee mug for Fridays. It has to be different from the mug you use the rest of the week. Now, a Friday really wouldn’t feel like a Friday without my “Friday Mug”!
Derek Rabe: I got a new Nussbaum truck (#2038) … pictured with trailer number #6662. It’s the same exact trailer that I first hooked to with my first Nussbaum truck, #1547.
Shawn Reischauer: There were many great moments this year, but one that I think jumps out was being on the Terminal Exchange podcast alongside Raquelle. I really had a great time doing that, I love getting to talk about our team and how great my co-workers are and our CAC culture, so having a chance to do that on the podcast with Raquelle was a blast.
Dayton Rumbold: Adding badges to MOVEit. 👟
Emilio Scott: Being near the top 5 drivers on the scorecard.
Chris Smith: Brent Nussbaum calling Matt Gordon “dude” in an email—truly legendary!
Thad Steffen: Playing Cory, Morne, Dan, and Drew B in the ESOPoly promotion video.
Heather Warnick: My favorite Nussbaum moment was my Certified RED ceremony. This, hands down, was the proudest moment for me this year.
Bill Wettstein: I cannot think of one that stands out, but there were a number of impactful moments when I had the opportunity to connect with employees as we discussed the joys and challenges of life.
Lena Zimmerman: 7 Habits Class – the results we get in our lives depend on what we do. What we do depends on how we see the world around us.
