Kindness in a McDonald’s Parking Lot

Recently, a message was sent to Nussbaum.com with a great story about one of our drivers. The driver is anonymous in the story, but we are so appreciative of his kindness and want to send out this shoutout. Hopefully it finds you, mystery driver!

“On Friday evening, I was in the drive thru at McDonalds in Hannibal, MO. I observed one of your trucks in the parking lot. The driver approached his truck and readied to leave.

There were several lanes of traffic going through the lot and he was very carefully making his way around the building towards the exit. I stopped to allow him enough room to maneuver (wouldn’t you think that anyone would do that?). Anyway, after he got past me, he waved in thanks.

Then he stopped his truck and ran up to the window before I got there and paid for my food. What a gentleman! I was impressed. I know many people complain about truckers, but this guy was a genuine gentleman.

I know sometimes the life of a trucker and his family is not always an easy one. My late brother-in-law was a retired trucker (38 years). As we both approached the Mark Twain Bridge crossing the Mississippi into Illinois, I passed him and honked and waved. He acknowledged me with an air horn. I just wanted to let your company know how gracious this driver was and to say ‘thank you’ for the food. I hope he can somehow get this e-mail. Thanks for your time. – Karen S.”
