Abdul Al Balushi
Domicile: Charleston, IN
Abdul comes to Nussbaum as a new driver, and he got into trucking simply because he likes driving. Off the road, Abdul enjoys flying his paramotor. His favorite road snack is apples.
Dream vacation: Bahamas
Curtis Christensen
Domicile: Mitchell, IN
After retiring from the Army, Curtis got into driving and has been doing so for 2 years. He grew up in Bedford, Indiana, and enjoys camping and hiking when not on the road. His favorite road snack is trail mix and his favorite memory from the road was driving on the Mackinaw Bridge.
Dream vacation: Yellowstone
Austin Ping
Domicile: Bedford, IN
Austin needed a change of pace and was looking for more opportunities when he got into trucking, so he has been driving for 8 months now. Off the road Austin can be found working on his cars, riding his motorcycle, and playing video games. His favorite road snack is beef jerky, and he grew up in Bedford, Indiana. Austin’s favorite road memory was going through Texas and Oklahoma.
Dream vacation: Europe
Dan Henson
Domicile: Ottawa, IL
Dan has been driving a truck for 20 years. He has been around trucks most of his life, so it seemed to be a natural choice. Growing up in Ottawa, Illinois, Dan has enjoyed playing the drums and going to car shows when off the road. His ideal road snack is peanut butter crackers.
Joe VanderStelt
Domicile: Twin Lake, MN
Joe comes to Nussbaum with about 1.5 years of trucking experience. He got into trucking because he felt burnt out from being in an office. He grew up in West Michigan, around Muskegon. Joe’s favorite road snack is shredded chicken mixed with tzatziki, feta, and pesto.
Dream vacation: Scandinavia, primarily Sweden, Denmark, and Norway
New Office Hire
Caden Bowars
We are excited to announce that Caden Bowars will be joining us this summer for an operations internship. Caden has been working at Dayton Freight in another internship and has really enjoyed the operational world. He grew up around the area here and has heard about Nussbaum, so thought he would see if we had anything. He plans to graduate from ISU in December of 2024! His start date will be 5/15/2024.
