Addison Bohler
“I would like to nominate Addison Bohler for the Humanitarian of the Year Award after rescuing me at a Casey’s convenient store the other night. The story begins with a trip up to El Paso to a multi-school track meet that my daughter was competing in. Realizing that it would likely be a long night at the track meet, I stopped at a Casey’s convenient store in El Paso for food. I picked up a piece of pizza, a soda and candy bar and headed to the checkout counter, running into Addison Bohler and her friend on the way. When the cashier rang up my purchases, I reached for my wallet and had a sudden panic. It wasn’t there.
So, with the line growing behind me, I ran out to my car searching frantically only to realize that it wasn’t there either. My heart sank… I had left it back at the office. Feeling a little silly, I went back inside and apologized to the cashier, telling her that I had left my wallet somewhere else and wouldn’t be able to complete my purchase. Without hesitation, Addison stepped up and told the cashier to add it to her purchases. Humbly, I accepted her generosity and profusely thanked her.
I want to commend Addison for her spirit of generosity. Without a doubt, Addison embodies Nussbaum’s vision of leaving everyone she comes in contact with in a more positive place. Thank you, Addison!” -Brent Nussbaum
