No, I’m not describing my last family reunion. Yesterday, the Nussbaum shop team gathered to celebrate Technician Appreciation Week, recognizing how our techs, shop office, service writers, and facilities crew contribute to Nussbaum’s success.
Lunch & Laughter
After a scrumptious lunch, James Grier expressed his gratitude to the shop team, highlighting how the various roles contribute to the big picture. Bill Wettstein, Doug Bradle, and Brent Nussbaum also added some words of thanks. Brent shared some history of the shop’s development and how Nussbaum first brought its maintenance in-house. It was a risk, and at first, they could only find two technicians. Today, the Nussbaum fleet is serviced by over 20 technicians.
Brent also recognized that without the shop, it doesn’t matter how great our service is or how many drivers we hire. “If our trucks aren’t ready to go and our trailers can’t hit the road, it doesn’t make any difference.”
The day closed out with some gifts and prize raffles. Between coolers, flashlights, gift cards, and an assortment of other items, everyone received a gift of appreciation. And of course, with Dalton, James, Billie Joe, and Justin as the hosts, there was no lack of joking and laughter!
Joy
I truly wish each one of you could’ve been there. You couldn’t help but feel the family atmosphere. This group of people knew each other well and had clearly been through a lot together. And you could tell they liked being together. They cracked jokes, shared stories, and embarrassed each other…much like a family does.
Doug Bradle made a comment that I think sums up the day: “It’s a real joy to interact with you all….I appreciate the level of camaraderie.”
To our shop team – we greatly appreciate everything you do to service our fleet equipment, but we also appreciate how you’ve helped make Nussbaum a great place to work. You are an inspiration to all of us!
