Integrity // We Are as Good as Our Word

By Bill Wettstein, CFO

Integrity by definition is “the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.”

In trucking and life, integrity is critical to successful relationships. Integrity is a foundation of trust. And without trust, relationships struggle and fail. We are only as good as our word.

I marvel at how often our shippers commend us on our on-time percentage. Typically, we are much better than our competition. As a company, we try to stand by our word. If we accept a load tender, we try our best to pick up and deliver the load when we agreed to.

Communication is a key part of integrity and any other attribute in life worth striving for. When we realize we will be late, we try to communicate that information as soon as possible.

All of this goes back to you, a professional driver.

I am impressed at the integrity you show each day…

  • while driving safely in and around the motoring public,
  • recognizing that the passenger vehicles do not understand your job and giving them grace,
  • working hard to pick up and deliver on time, every time,
  • being kind and professional, even when other vehicles and those at shippers and receivers do not treat you professionally,
  • and calmly accepting when your week changes because of something outside of your control

Blessings on your journey!
