Grady Hill was driving on the interstate in the early evening when he saw two vehicles collide in front of him. He started to slow down and swerved to miss one of the cars.
While other vehicles kept going, he stopped near a car in the middle of the road. It had no lights on. Grady put his flashers on to warn others of its presence since it was dark out and hard to see.
Nobody was stopping to help. He stayed to help the first officer and others and offered to fill out a report of what he saw. The road was shut down for four hours because of fatalities, but they let Grady go after a little over an hour.
Wow –what a way to step outside your duties and care for those around you, Grady. Thank you.
