4 Tips to Fight COVID-19

It’s everywhere. And spreading. Laughter! 😂😂 

Let’s have a laugh-and-learn about health and hygiene tips for COVID-19. This post probably won’t cover anything new about coronavirus, but you’re guaranteed a laugh that will help you get by with some reminders framed by funnies. 

Stay healthy, keep your chin up, and smile today. But, most of all, don’t panic clean your way into an illogical frenzy. 

Tip 1: Wash Your Hands. A Lot.

It’s amazing. What you and I thought was common knowledge is turning out to be new information. Washing your hands is a crucial part of daily living. 

Wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap and warm water. Sing your ABC’s to wash for the right length of time. But, if that tune is getting annoy-… I mean, repetitive, try one of these renditions. 

And when should you wash your hands?

  • After visiting the bathroom (which I hope you’ve been doing your whole life. Please don’t tell me if this is a new practice for you) 
  • Before eating (another good option to continue for the rest of your life) 
  • When you get home or back in the truck (again, not a bad one to keep up on) 
  • After pumping gas 
  • Every time you wonder, “Should I wash my hands?” 

Bonus Tip: Buy some lotion 

Though this may be common sense, not everyone was doing it beforehand – which is frightening to think about… so don’t think about it too much.  

But washing your hands frequently will help reduce your likelihood of getting sick. So, wash your hands and say your prayers because Jesus and germs are everywhere. 

Tip 2: Maintain Social Distancing

Go the distance. The social distancing distance. Try to stay at least 3 feet away from others; 6 feet is even better.

  • Utilize your phone to avoid face-to-face contact.  
  • Don’t underestimate the wave-and-smile greeting over shaking hands (no one will be offended – they’ll probably be relieved)  
  • Stay connected to ward off loneliness 
  • Facetime your kids and read them a bedtime story 
  • Call your grandparents 
  • Connect online to laugh, share, and be encouraged 

Tip 3: Don’t Touch Your Eyes, Nose, or Mouth

This is a difficult one. You’re probably not conscious of how many times a day, even just within 15 minutes, you touch your face. But we also touch a lot of other things that aren’t clean. And our hands can transfer illness and be our own worst enemy in that way. 

Try not to think about itching your nose, or resting your head in your palm, or rubbing your eyes…  

Sorry, that was probably torturous. We can’t froth up our hands with soap 24/7, so in between hand-washings, try to keep your hands off your face. 

Tip 4: Shield Your Sneezes and Coughs

Grab a tissue or your elbow to contain your germs. This one truly is straight-forward. 

Because if you sneeze in your hands, you’ll need to scrub, scrub, scrub again. WASH YOUR HANDS. 

And if you sneeze in the general vicinity of someone, you could infect a lot of people – especially if you’re not following SOCIAL DISTANCING guidelines.  

And if you touch your face after sneezing, or being sneezed on, you just welcomed germs in with a smile. DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE.
